042 | This Grave Yard appears from its nature to be very old. It is situated at the foot of Braigh na h-Eaglaise, on a high bank overhanging the north side of the Langwell Water, about 200 yards from the house of Brae naeaglaise; it is said that a Church or Catholic Chapel stood close beside it, from which Braigh na h-Eaglaise, (i.e. Church Hill) takes its name. The present inhabitants of the neighbourhood however, know nothing whatever about it, and all that is left to indicate the spot, is a few moss-covered mounds with one or two large stones cropping above the ground. The inhabitants are not aware of it being dedicated to any Saint. |
