This eminence is about 12 feet higher than the surrounding field and is wholy artificial, this house was opened and was found to contain a stone staircase which lead down through its centre to a well. Its outward appearance is that of a Conical shaped knoll covered with rich soil & overgrown with rough grass. The property of his Grace the Duke of Portland.
