005 The cliff at this place is partly covered with green slime, and the ruggedness of the cliff has the appearance of a series of shop fronts, hence the name. It is sometimes called the Green Doors, and the shop Doors.

005 Applies to a portion of land on the coast which is nearly isolated from the main cliff. Mr Banks, an old and very intelligent man, and Mr Cairncross informs me that this place was once fortified, and that it is not many years ago since portions of the fortification were visible - in fact cropping stones may now be seen here and there, similar to those at the old Camp at "Holburn Head".
