005 Some years ago, while the Admiralty Survey of this coast was being made, the officer in charge commited suicide by jumping from the summit of this cliff into the sea. His name was Slater, and the place has always been called ''Slater's Loup'', since that time. There is a small monument erected close to the place were he is supposed to have gone over.
