My Dear Sir,
I am favoured
with yours of 29th Inst [Instant].
My reason for maKing the
remarK about "Cuil Loch" was
that some years ago we had
an action in the Court of
Session between the Crown
and Coll [Colonel] Guthrie of Scots Calder,
in which this Loch is an
important boundary point.
all the witnesses in that
action called it by the
name of "Cuil Loch" and
in all the Plans produced
in that case it is called
by the same name.
