006 | Mr William Manson of Castletown found two bronze spear-heads here in the year 1839, while digging for hidden treasure, which tradition affirms was hid or buried in line with the two "Heads" viz:- "Hoy Head" in OrKney and "Dunnet Head" on the Caithness coast. The treasure's however, have never been found, though the above mentioned spear-heads, & bones which were supposed to be human were discovered in abundance. Tradition affirms that a cow-hide full of gold was buried many years ago in line wih the above named "Heads". |
