039 The ruins of a Picts house supposed to have been the residence of a Cheiftain of the name of "Beath". the village near is supposed to have derived its name from this source. The ruins are the remains of a circular tower, with two small chambers in the walls, the one on the west entire and that at the east broken with no roof. the walls on the west and north west are about 15 feet in height and gradually falling away to the east side at the entrance to about 5 feet. the whole is built of rough stones no mortar or cement of any description appear to have been used - belonging to Mrs B T Sinclair.
