023 | Alexander Gunn Esq. of Dale, says that there was once a large Pictish House here, it was removed many years ago, and the stones taken from the inside of it, were used in building the outhouses etc. on the farm of AchKeepster. When this mound was being razed, the workmen came upon some human remains, and several bones belonging to animals were also discovered. |
