204.13 | The small tower attached to part of the offices here, is the only remains now left of an ancient castle. It is ruinious and stands about 8 feet high, the walls are about the thickness of a common building and appears to have been built without mortar. The faint track of a wall is discernable round by the edge of the trees and along the top of rock. "Kilmorie Castle which consisted of several towers and buildings, was the residence of the Jamiesons of Kilmorie, Coroners or Crowners of Bute, and is now in Ruins." New Stat Acct.
