[Reverend] Alexander McBride and Mr. Grant say that many human bones & relics of Sepulture, have been turned up in the stackyard behind this house [Midpark], which corroborates the fact of a chapel having been here altho' [although] not having been seen in the memory of any one now living. The cross on trace points out a little irregular lump or bank covered with grass, which Mr. Muir points out what he says to be the site of the Chapel. Fullarton in his Gazetteer says that on the islet of Inchmaroch, "The ruins of a Chapel dedicated to St. Marnock are still to be seen upon it." |

[Notes below St. Marnock's Chapel:]
"Inch Marnoc, an Island called from St. Marnoc, where appears the
ruins of a chapel, and where (according to Fordan) had been a cell of
monks."
Pennants Tour.
Mr. Muir of Barone Park has informed me, that when
the late McKinlay made a survey of the island, he found the
ruins pretty entire, and that it was the most handsome
of the Ecclesiastical ruins in the island, - It was entirely
removed by the present tenant Mr. Muir who is a very old man.
