It is an oval form, and occupies, the level top of a promontory jutting out from the elevated bank above the meadows; The ground is very steep all round, except the neck connecting it with the hill, where a ditch was cut across; it was surrounded by a wall of stones and earth, 12 feet thick; the wall was double at the neck above mentioned, where the entrance had been.
