248.08 | [Circle Number 4] This is a small Circle composed of two stones diameter 19 feet. [Circle Number 5 ] This is a large circle quite complete with three immense granite blocks, and six smaller stones on a level with the surface or just appearing above the moss. Diameter of Circle 43 feet. [Circle Number 6] This Circle is composed of six stones three immense sandstone columns fifteen to 18 feet high, and three other smaller ones appearing at surface Diameter 53 feet. [Circle Number 7 ] This Circle is one of the most singular in the group. It is composed of one immense column about fourteen feet high, and five other immense blocks of sandstone appearing at the surface, near the centre of the circle a horizontal block of sandstone singularly grooved supposed to be the "Panel Stone". It was here Fingal is said to have held his court of justice. Diameter of Circle about 55 feet. |
