A parish library was established upwards of ten years. It is in a flourishing State, & has been the means of spreading a taste for general reading. Coal, which is brought from a distance of 24 miles is also used but not so generally. There was also Chapel at Huntlywood within the parish of Gordon P. I have no idea where the chapel stood. I did not even know that a chapel existed until Mr Stobbs informed me. I have a field called the Chantry & another called Chapel Lea & from these names I should suppose the chapel to have been within either of them but whereabouts I cannot even guess.
