Mr. Hardy Says it is the remains of a "British Camp" There appears one of Smaller dimensions nearby close to this one and on the west of it Note - The many chesters within the limits of the Saxon districts of the South of Scotland are [obviously] the Caester or Ceaster of the [Saxons] who applied this name to the places which had been the Caers or forts of the Britons.
