002.10 A small village about a mile and a half east of Buckie, it comprises several small shops, a corn & a barley mill, a Tobacco manufactory, and Public House, with several rows of cottars houses. The ancient Grave yard stands near the centre of the village round which are clustered without any order the houses of the village etc. The parish Church & School house are also situate here.

Note: Bede House -- "The origin of this institution is mentioned by Spottiswood in his account of Religious Houses in Scotland, and is as follows: "Rothsan, John Bissett gives to God, and the Church of St Peter's of Rothsan for sustaining seven leprous persons, the patronage of the Kirk of Kyltalargy, to pray for the souls of William and Alexander, Kings of Scotland, and souls of his ancestors and successors, about 1226."
