002.07 The remains of an ancient castle or fortified masion, formerly, the residence of the proprietor of the Findochtie estate, before it became the property of the Seafield family. What remains of this old house now, forms part of the Steading of the Mains of Findochtie. The date of its erection is not known

002.07 An ordinary sized farm house, having some outhouses, and a court of offices, garden and farm attached. The dwelling house and part of the Steading stand on part of the foundations of the old Castle of Findochty. It is the property of the Earl of Seafield.
