Ph. [Parish] of Rathven Co. [County] of Banff

Note: Deleted entry: King's Cairn (Tumuli); Upon the place where the King fell, there was as usual a large Cairn of stones collected about 33 feet in diameter and 6 feet in height, which to this day is called the King's Cairn. It was opened and explored by Mr Robertson Baads of Cullen, and found to contain four upright-stones (unhewn) which is evidently a Cistvaen or Stone-Coffin.

Note: Later annotation: The King's Cairn is nearly two miles from this tumulus. C.A. Campbell has been misinformed about this object. William Paton, LCorp RE [Lance Corporal Royal Engineers]
