002.03 | A considerable fishing village situated on the Coast, about 2½ Miles east from Buckie; consisting wholly of fishermens dwellings: with a United Presbyterian Church, a public house; a hall belonging to the Gardeners Society occasionally used as a School, and two fish curing establishments. There is no post office in the Village - but there is an iron letter box, fixed in the end of one of the houses, for receiving letters, which are taken up by a Post Office Runner who conveys then to the Post Office at Buckie. All the houses are fues held, generally by the occupiers, under Lord Seafield the Superior |
