041.05 An immense pile of stones. on the brow of the hill called the Buiternach, supposed to have been raised over the body of some ancient Chieftain or perhaps to commemorate a victory. a few small mounds supposed to be, Tumuli, are visible on the moor near the large one. plainly indicating that a battle was fought at this place.
