036.02 | The place where the Earl of Huntly defeated the Marquis of Argyle in October 1594 their are no tumuli cairns or any other monument remaining as generally indicate the site of such conflicts. The battle is said to have lasted only two hours. the greatest loss being on the Argyle side, and where it is alleged neglected to bury their dead, a large portion of the battle field has formerly been used as a moss thereby rendering it now impossible to obtain the slightest information regarding the various sites of antiquities which generally indicate such places, it is sometime known by the name of the battle of Glenlivet.
