from the adjoining parish of
Marnoch was made to it both
quoat sacra et civilia"
New Statistical Account
"At Burnend, at about a half a
mile to the N [North[ of the present church,
is to be seen the remains of a small
chapel, probably the place of worship i
n Popish times. For more conveniency,
the church had afterwards
been transferred to its present
situation. On a stone into the S. [South]
wall of it, is an inscription, in
these terms: This church was re-edified
by George Ogilvie, Master of Banff, 1692"
