004.11 The traces of this are very faint & indistinct, it is however, believed that a camp has been here. Another one is said to have been near the present one, but I have not been able to discover the site. The New Statistical Account in speaking of this locality says -
"Various Military Antiquities discovered here are worthy of notice, some of them perhaps, connected with the Danish Engagement referred to. To the west of the locality described in connexion with it, on the rocKy eminences on the north side of the road, two circular encampments may still be traced."
This camp would seem, judging from the faint traces of it, to have been about 90 linKs in diameter, nothing is Known regarding the second camp mentioned in the New [continued on page 40]
