028 A Small but rapid River collecting on the confines of Dumfries and Ayrshire in the Parish of Cumnock and flowing in a westerly direction through this [parish] till it joins Ochiltree at which [place] it takes a Sudden bend to the north [now] the whole of its course is inclose by ravines wooded to the top - the part that divides Stair from Auchenleck is [ra-] level less rocky and evener than the Southern portions - at its junction with the Ayr Water a little South of Barskimming Mill there is a good level [spot on] the Stair Side the remaining portion of it are enclosed with Sloping wooded glens on each side See Ochiltree [--] A long narrow patch of mixed wood on a Sloping bank of the Lugar Water and the property of --Barskimming
