035 | Situated on the farm of Stonepark near to the farm steading. The following are the inscriptions on the stone West side. Here lies John McGeahan who for his constant adherence to the word of God, prosecuting the ends of our national league and covenant, and appearing for the rescue of the Rev [Reverend] David [Houston] one of the persecuted Ministers of the gospel was shot at Bellow Path by a party of bloody dragoons 28th July 1688. East side. This stone was erected by proceeds of a sermon preached by Rev [Reverend] Mr James Curie of Cathrine. 28th Augt. [August] 1836. |
