038 Named from the Inhabitant of a small house of that name situated near these steep rocks. House now erased. Are a number of scattered rocky Knolls steeply sloping and flat on top.

038 ; 044 An indentation of the Sea Coast extending from Bowan Point on the South to Dunure Point on the North. Towards the N. & S. [North & South] ends the Shore is rocky but a little to the N. [North] of Culzean Castle a beautiful Sandy beach extends for about a mile in length. There is very little current here, Good anchorage about 1/4 mile off Culzean Castle. Fish are not plentiful though there are Several Kinds taken here Such as Cod, Ling, haddock and occasionally herrings. Most prevalent winds from W. to S.W. [West to South West]. Height of tides about 12 feet.
