Estate map (1839) J. G. Hannay Esq Reverend William Menzies William Rennie Esqr. |
044 | The ruins of an ancient Castle the walls of which are only about two feet high. The inside is a heap of rubbish. Situated on the margin of a Small Stream at the South and of a Steep and [slackly] wooded glen. Nothing is Known of the date of its erection or when it fell into ruins. It would Appear to never have been a place of Strength or much Consequence. |
