019 A Slight hollow on Wallacegill Muir thro [through] which Wallacegill Burn runs said by the Inhabitants to have been frequented by Wallace the Patriot. In this gill is a Stone somewhat resembling the headstones in graveyards but of Whinstone marked thus [15 AW ER TY) This is believed by the neighbouring Inhabitants to mark the spot where some person was buried, but they can give no further information concerning it.
