Robert Wilson Darvel		 019 A Village situated about 2 miles east of Newmilns. It has but one House of Worship belonging to the Cameronians. There are two Schools one erected by the Late Marquis of Hastings and called 'Hastings School" the other school is in connexion with the free Church.
The Village consists of one long street. The Inhabitants are chiefly engaged in weaving muslin.
