003 The only vestige of this encampment is an artificial Slope about 20 or 30 yards long on the South Side. It is very probable that there were very little more works than the slope referred to the hill on which it is situated being sufficiently formed by nature for the purpose. There is no acct [account] to show at what period or by what army it was occupied. Major Morris and other Gentlemen think it to have existed prior to the Battle of Largs in 1263
