012 This Castle seems to have been erected more for a residence than a place of defence. It was built in 1607.
"Clonbeith the old mansion of the Cunninghams, remains still pretty entire, though roofless., it is situated about 3 miles eastwards of Kilwinning, on a rising bank the north Side of the Lugton Water and is a conspicuous object in the neighbourhood."
