The South side of which is [pretty] steep and thickly covered with tall Firs, Beech & Ash which sheud a gloomy appearance throughout the glen. A small stream runs through it And falls into the Girvan Water adjacent to Kilkerran Acid Work. A circumstance of tragic character occured in this Glen about 3 years ago. A man named Sloss belonging to the neighbourhood of Crosshill commited suicide by hanging himself on a tree while labouring under a fit of temporary insanity. |
