045 A small stream rising from a spring on the S. [South] Eastern base of Craigfin Hill and flows East untill it joins the water of Girvan. It forms part of the parish boundary between Kirkoswald and Maybole.

The South side of which is [pretty] steep and thickly covered with tall Firs, Beech & Ash which sheud a gloomy appearance throughout the glen. A small stream runs through it And falls into the Girvan Water adjacent to Kilkerran Acid Work. A circumstance of tragic character occured in this Glen about 3 years ago. A man named Sloss belonging to the neighbourhood of Crosshill commited suicide by hanging himself on a tree while labouring under a fit of temporary insanity.
