044 An indentation of the Sea-Coast
one mile in length, extending to Bowen Point in the North to Weary-NeuK in the South. A ridge of Shelving rocks form a Sort of breaKwater to a Kind of natural harbour at the South end, but only for Small Craft, and not Considered safe as the ridge of rocks above mentioned is Covered at high water, with the exception of a few prominent points. It has for the
most part a Sandy bottom - Most prevailing winds from W. [West] to S.W. [South West] Height of tides about 12 feet.

044 A cluster of Small rocks in Maiden Bay:
They appear only at low water, at Spring Tide. On the most western Stands a pole about 18 feet high, on the top of which
is placed a lantern, as a guide to fishing boats on dark nights. -
