018 | A Small village or 'Clachan' Situated on the Grougar Estate & on the Turnpike Road leading from Glasgow to Galston, about 18 miles from the former place and 2 1/4 from the latter. It is also intersected by the Parish Road from Kilmarnock to Rusha and distant from Kilmarnock about 4 miles. - The Post boy from Kilmarnock calls once a day and delivers and collects the letters. It derived its name from the burning of 'Moscow' in 1812 - the first building having been erected about that period. - |
