004 ; 005 ; 007 ; 008 | A parish in the North West part of the district of Cunningham, Ayrshire, " bounded on the north and east by the parishes of Lochwinnoch and Beith; on the North west by Largs; and on the South and west by the parish of Dalry. It is of an irregular oblong figure, in length from the South east to North west between 7 and 8 miles, and of the medium breadth of about 2 miles and a half. The area is computed to be equal to Seventeen square miles, or 8,756 Scotch acres.
