Mr Dunlop of Lawthorn states that this Mount is supposed to have been a place where justice was administered in olden times. he further states that for the last 30 years there is not any alteration in its appearance. Messrs Dick of Irvine and Mr Johnston of Redburn also coincides with the above statement as far as Tradition goes not vouching for its accuracy. _

favor of the Tradition regarding this object namely the Thorn where
Law or Justice was administered, from enquiry it appears that there has
not been any Stone Coffins or other objects of Antiquity found here.
