018 This is a spot on the Balgray Mill Burn not far from its junction with Gardrum Mill Burn. it is situated at the bend in the stream and is deeper than any other parts. it is not known why, it got its name.

018 This is a fine Sycamore Tree on the East side of Balgray Mill Burn and near a bend in the stream called Janet's Kirn it got its name form Jane Mure, daughter of the Last Sir William Mure of Rowallan, being married under its shade to William Fairlie of Bruntsfield. She was born in the year 1678 after the death of William Fairlie she became the wife of David first Earl of Glasgow.
