040 | A small but rapid stream, which takes its rise from surface water at the N. [North] base of Killmean Hill. From this point it flows for nearly two miles through open moorland, after which it runs through a precipitous & partly wooded Glen of about ½ a mile in length; & after a further course of about ¾ of a mile mostly through arable land, & over a smooth pebbled bed has its confluence with the Kerse Burn. For the greater portion of its course it joins the mutual boundary of the parishes of Coylton & Dalrymple. There is another burn of this name in Coylton parish (see page 56 of Name Book) |
