033 A large isolated Rock on the margin of the River Ayr, rising almost perpendicular to the height of about fifty feet above the bed of the river. Tradition Mentions a Cave having at one existed near its base. but all traces of it are now obliterated, Said to have been the hiding place of Sir William Wallace when pursued by his enemies.
