060 [Situation] On the South west edge of the plan on the Sea Shore 1¾ Miles N.W [North West] of KnocKdolian Hill.
A prominent and rocky head-land on the Sea Shore at the Northern extremity of Ballantrae Bay. The cliff here is about 200 feet high and for the most part rugged and precipitous. A road has been Cut through This cliff, a work of great difficulty.

060 [Situation] On the West Side of the plan adjacent to the Sea Shore 1½ Miles N.W [North West] of KnocKdolian Hill.
A Small round hill on which is a Trig. [Trigonometrical] Station. It is partly arable & partly rocky arable. Its west Side is Steep & precipitous, but to the N.E. & S. [North East & South] it falls off with a gentle Slope. 3rd. class hill

The above two places most probably derives their name from the gailic - Ben- a Hill and lun, geniter Even a Bird. Their vicinity with Sea Rendering a probable resort for waterfowl - W McRae
