066 A large and rapid river which rises in a mountainous district in the E. [East] of Ayrshire and falls into the sea at the Village of Ballantrae. For the most part it flows through a flat and fertile valley, receiving in its course Several tributary Streams the principal of which are the Duisk and Tig.
