008 A building erected by subscription in 1817, the lower part consists of two shops and a lockup, the rents of the shops are appropriated to Pub[lic] purposes - The upper part of the building consists of a large room where the Justice of Peace Courts, the Sheriff Small Debt Cir[cuit] Courts &c are held. It is also used as a Public Reading Room. and occasionally let for lectures &c. In one of the Shops in the Lower Stor[ey] there is a circulating library
