008 "There is nothing remaining to identify exactly where this Castle stood, but the spot marked on trace is the supposed site, and has been pointed out, as such, by Mr. Kerr of Broadstone Hall" - (signed) L. Sheddan
C. Asst. [Civilian Assistant]
"The ruins of the Castle of Braidstaine remained till towards the end of the last century, with some vestiges of the garden and an avenue of old trees, but on the Occasion of rebuilding the farm steading, the tenant was allowed to take his own way, when he took down the remains of the Castle, and used the stones in the new building. The avenue of trees and vestiges of garden have all disappeared; so that there is no remnant of its ancient state left."
