028 A small, rocky Hillock, situate on the the farm of Carnach. There is a local tradition in Connection with it, to the following effect:- When the "Feudal System" was still in existence, the chief of Sunart challenged the chief of Moidart, which the latter accepted. The contending parties met on the flat grounds at the head of Loch Sunart, which are overlooked by this eminence. Each party saw the advantage of this strong position, for the possession of which , it is said, there was fearful slaughter, and several heads severed from their bodies where [were] found there on. Hence the name which Signifies "The Hillock of the heads"
