145; 146; 155; 156; 165 | A Hebridean Island in the parish of Colonsay & Oronsay It is separated from Oronsay only by a narrow Sound which is dry at low Water, So that the two islands may be considered as one. They extend lengthwise nearly north and South, Colonsay on the north & Oronsay on the South. They are 12 miles long and from 1 to 3 broad. The southern extending of Oronsay lies 4 miles north west of the northern extremity of Islay, and 7 miles by north of the South Western extremity of Jura. |
