This Rock is Situated Six miles South West of the Island of Canna & ten miles West of the Isle of Rum, famous for the Catching of Seals; they go up the Crevices at high water (innumerable) & are left there until the return of the tide. This Island is the property of Donald McNeil Esqr of Canna; meaning:- Maiden Rock.
