There is a tradition in the neighbourhood that the "Laird of Ob" a few centuries ago with some of his retainers made use of this island as a place of refuge from some of the Rival clans. The remains of a building which resembles that of a Fort are distinctly visible the outer wall is strongly built with inknown stones, the inner part shews marked evidence of having been inhabited.
