077 Tradition asserts this to be the ruin of a R.C. [Roman Catholic] Chapel; supposed to have been dedicated to the "Goddess Annat". It is now grassed over but the foundation of the building is still distinctly observable. A burying ground (Old) is near by. *
* Somewhere between the Ruins of Chapel & stream was a "Well", now blocked up & cannot be identified.
BURIAL GROUND (Site of) [Allt na h-Annait] Burying Ground (Old) A. McDonald Bridge of Orchy
R. McNaughton Clifton
William McIntyre Ais-an-t-Shithean
077 Tradition asserts this to be an old burying ground, & to have been attached to the Chapel. There is nothing visible to confirm it as having been such. The place pointed out, is surrounded by loose stones partly covered over with turf - the remains no doubt of a wall with which it has been enclosed at one time.
