"It is in the sides of a deep ravine, through which a precipitous stream tumbles its rapid Course, and it served for a Considerable time, after the battle of Culloden, to a gentleman of the name of Stewart who served with Prince Charles in 1745" New Statistical Account.
This was Stewart of Ardsheal, and the time spent in the Cave is said to have been Six weeks.
