Mr D. McPhail, Tenant, Fishnish Mr N. McInnes Farmer, Ballynachendy Dr [Doctor] McColl Ballymeanach |
070 | This object is situated in a small hollow about 1/4 of a mile N. [North] of Garmony Farm, The name of the hollow "Lag na Cille" which evidently derives its name from it, would imply that a chapel stood here; but if it ever existed there is no trace of it now, This must be a very old burying ground, as the last internment took place in it upwards of 120 years ago, that of two grand-aunts of one of the Authorities who died in their infancy. It is said to have been out of general use for a long period prior to that occasion. |
