006; 007 This canal extends from Loch Linnhe to the Beauly Firth a distance of about 60 miles. Of this distance about 23 are through artificial cutting and about 37 by natural lakes. The names of the lakes are, Loch Ness, Loch Oich, & Loch Lochy. Loch Ness is about 23 1/2 miles in length, Loch Oich 3 3/4, & Loch Lochy 10: Loch Oich is the highest point of the canal being 100 feet above High Water.
